Benzema is an excellent player as he has shown in the last two seasons. Last season Real Madrid team won two important titles La Liga and the Champions League depending on Benzema's performance alone. Even though I am a Barcelona fan, I don't underestimate Benzema's ability. Benzema is even the best player in La Liga right now.

But I think Benzema is Madrid's biggest weakness. Because this team is now more dependent on Benzema's performance. If Benzema doesn't play well, Madrid's overall performance weakens. Benzema has been injured this season, missing several important matches. This is why Madrid is far behind than Barcelona in La Liga.

Madrid is definitely the favorite team in the Champions League match against Chelsea. But if Benzema doesn't play well, I'm not sure if Madrid will win against Chelsea. If Chelsea's defenders can resist Benzema, I think they are able to beat Madrid too.
