Because many people really hope Messi will retire in the team where Messi's football career started until he reached the GOAT title in Barcelona, so they're expect Messi should be royal and thank to Barcelona, but it's really don't make sense at all lol. Messi and Barcelona doesn't having any personal problems, Messi just choose his future path and Barcelona agree with it. It's not like Ronaldo who get terminated by Manchester United Tongue
I think we can't just judge players and compare them like what you do between Messi and Ronaldo. I don't mean to support Ronaldo here, but when someone does something there must be a problem in it. And some of Ronaldo's close colleagues also support what he is doing. Keep in mind they know Ronaldo's personality better off and on the field.
Messi is currently facing an extremely challenging situation, and a lot is going through his thoughts. Going to Barcelona will be very difficult for him because they won't provide him the opportunity to govern and play in every game again, along with the captaincy. He obviously plays within the Barcelona system, thus I believe he ought to accept another offer instead of staying with them. Barcelona is simply fighting for the league title this season, which is doable for them even without Messi's assistance, therefore I don't think they will continue to pay him a hefty salary. I hope Messi finds a new team or moves to Saudi Arabia.
