Right now, there is a large gap between France and other UEFA teams. And I would say that in case all of their players are fit, then France will lift the trophy without any effort in 2024. England comes close, but they have issues with consistency. Italy and Spain do have some promising younger players, but they are not performing well at international level. I don't want to talk too much about the dying teams such as Germany, Danmark and Netherlands. They are going down the drain, and I don't think that they will stay relevant to international football in the long term.
I don't agree that there is a large gap between France and other European teams. France currently maybe is the best team in Europe, but England and Spain are pretty close. Just look at how they got kicked out from the final four of the Nations League. They got one win in the last 5 games played and finished third after Croatia and Denmark. I know that Nations League is not that important competition, but it still is a competition and I'm sure that France fans would love to see them in the final four.
I just wanna say that France may be the best team in Europe, but they are not unbeatable. Especially in the knockout games where one red card or one penalty can change the outcome of the game.
