It cannot be cracked merely by converting a private key to a bitcoin address using standard ECDSA mathematics. All fancy functions that you saw in the mentioned article just perform standard operations, albeit in a slightly obscure way that will be difficult to comprehend for newcomers.
ECDSA is *NOT* used to create addresses from private keys, it is used to create transactions and signed messages.
Any exploit on ECDSA is not able to affect the key generation part of Bitcoin.
