Potter was superb at Brighton but he came to Chelsea and became ass.
Potter is a good coach, no doubt about that, but he is also an average coach and the success that Brighton recorded while he was still there was not just because he was a good coach, it was also because the players in the club a very good and technically sound that is why even after he left them they did not start losing games but currently in the Premier League I still in a very good position. Chelsea needs an experienced coach that is not average.
Brighton performance while Potter was still in charge was completely unexpected, they managed to make a surprise because they were among the elite clubs in the top four. I think Potter made a mistake when he accepted the proposal from Chelsea, he left an in-form Brighton to become coach of a bigger team.
At Chelsea he was not able to do much, Potter was only able to win seven wins from 22 premier league matches during his seven months as coach, he was finally fired because he failed to boost Chelsea performance. Chelsea was too hasty to make a decision, they should look for a competent coach to improve the quality of the team.
He was a pretty good coach at the time and of course Brighton could be in trouble for a few seasons because of the advice he gave. But indeed his move to Chelsea was too hasty which actually made his career a little messy now. His current state of affairs for Potter he looks like he will have to start over from scratch to earn his trust again because of course with him crumbling at Chelsea now who is going to be interested in the state he is in coaching.
