Gambling addicts does not play just because they are winning.  They are playing because they already developed an uncontrolled urge to gamble.  Uncontrol means they will continue to gamble whether they lose or win.
It's true what you said friends and the majority of gambling addicts they are willing to do anything in order to be able to continue betting even the worst negative impact is committing criminal acts such as stealing, robbing or cheating in order to get some money to gamble.
Even though some come from wealthy backgrounds, no matter how much money they have, if they become a gambling addict, it is very likely that they will be destroyed and their assets will be lost without a trace.
In fact, the beginning of gambling addiction was because of the desire to continue to win and get a number of benefits and because of this it is a pity not to chase after a win and to be wiser in dealing with actions when gambling.

Unbalance mindset towards this activity, there are chances that you may fall to this level of addiction and do things that will really harm yourself if you won't be able to control yourself. Not only your finances but more on your mental concern, gambling addicted person no longer thinks about anything. They are more on how to continue gambling, to the point that they will commit criminal things to satisfy the lust or desire to continue playing their gambling games.

I think it is also about personal disposition when it comes to addictions. Or perhaps also about existing circumstances that you are in in a specific moment. Gambling responsibly could also mean to not gamble at all if you know that you are in a psychological deadlock for personal reasons. It is much like alcohol usually isn't a solution when you have huge problems to solve. Gambling is similar to that as you would probably do it to compensate for something else if you find yourself in trouble and decide to go for out. If it is for pleasure only, gambling responsibly just refers to the relative amount that you are putting on the line compared to what you own and need for your life to continue as usual.
