Looking at the current conditions I think Lens is still quite better so far.
Indeed, currently their position is below Marseille, but from the statistics they lost, they are better than Marseille, even though there were indeed a number of draws that were far more numerous. Apart from that, looking at their defense they are also quite good and have even been the club that has conceded the fewest goals so far.
The defeat against PSG started with a red card so it was difficult even though they worked really hard during that game.
Marseille will face Lens next week and that game will be very important for their conquest for the remaining Champions League spot. They will face Lille also in a month so I expect them to collect many points for their remaining games.
Lens have Reims and Lorient that might be challenging a bit, otherwise I expect them to collect many points too. That's why the game between them will be very important!
The main focus is obviously on Marseille for Lens but before that there are still other matches for the two teams because Marseille will host Auxerre and Lens will travel to Toulouse and this can actually be a good capital, because of course this match will be profitable for them, especially for them favorite.
It's just that when they face each other afterwards this will be something interesting because the difference in their points which is only 1 point can affect the intensity of the game.
Both teams are close to each other and Marseille got only one point more than Lens however Marseille started the season better than Lens if I'm not wrong they had collected more points at the beginning of this season, While PSG is far from them I think the main competition in the French league in between Marseille and Lens for second place of the table.
