very few chances existed in the first half from both teams. Lyon went 2-1 up which they did pretty well. made 3 shots on target and 2 became goals. Strasbourg seemed a little surprised by Lyon's first goal. and that left them a bit unfocused and ended up conceding another goal 3 minutes later.
in the second half, if you do not want to lose, Strasbourg must improve their game. both played discipline, but Strasbourg had to play more aggressively if they were to win.
Lyon getting a win in this game was a good result for them but they are still in 7th position no hope for Euro football yet, but if they can continue like this they will make it to Euro football next season, it was not an easy game for Lyon but they where the favorite to win this game, I picked them to win the game and they did, there only hope it to qualify for Euro football next season, because the league title is for Paris Saint German already who are topping the league with a 8 points difference from second place Marseille.
Last season RC Strasbourg beat Lyon with the same goal margin but this current game was different. Lyon was just fortunate to get that win because Strasbourg had better ball control and more goal attempts but it was not their lucky day. Strasbourg has not yet escaped relegation which was why this game was so important to them. But they have to take other matches more seriously because relegation will be a big blow to the club. They will lose sponsorship deals, players, and even fans. Last season under coach Peter Sylvester Bosz, Lyon ended the season in the eighth position, maybe Laurent Blanc could lead them to go the fifth position which gives them a ticket to Europa Conference League qualifiers.
