They have performed very well, but it is not over yet for them. Arsenal is a good example for a team that destroys their own performance by dropping so hard. I didn't expect Arsenal to win every single game, but when somebody said that they wouldn't win for four games in a row, I would not have believed that either. That's a sad ending for a season that went so well for them.
I think that you can also try to see the difference between arsenal and newcastle. Arsenal had very big pressure now caused by arsenal was always aiming to win the game. Manchester city is now having the biggest chance to win the trophy. Arsenal had no choice other than getting win or it will be losing the trophy.
