Mirror claims that Bayern Munich are thinking of signing Ollie Watkins in case of not being able to convince Harry Kane to sign for them in the summer. However it doesn't seem very realistic to me honestly. Because Watkins is surely a skilled centre-forward but I believe that there is a huge difference between him and Kane now. Kane is literally one of the best strikers in the world currently.
We haven't even seen Watkins playing for one of top European teams yet. I think that it would be a big risk to take for Bayern Munich if this rumour turns out to be true. They have already been continuing with Choupo-Moting and they shouldn't take another risk again. Maybe there is no guarantee about Kane to play superbly there also. But at least he is more convincing to do well compared to Watkins. Besides it would be the best for Bayern Munich to sign a striker whose characteristics are similar to Lewandowski - Kane looks like the best alternative for now.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/ollie-watkins-bayern-munich-transfer-29848492Ollie Watkins is one underrated young player who is capable of leading the next generation attack for Bayern Munich after Lewandowski's departure. He is fast and capable of scoring many goals but it will be a risk because he is still young and lack that much experience to play for a top club. Nevertheless I would opt to take the risk if I were the manager for Bayern Munich, it might turn out to be a good move after all, who knows

I have watched this player and indeed his achievements with Aston Villa this season have been amazing with a contribution of 14 goals and 6 assists so far. As a striker he is an extraordinary figure, especially if he joins Bayern Munich, maybe his career will be even more brilliant. Ollie Watkins' market value is still relatively cheap, around 32 million euros and this price should not be a complicated consideration for Bayern Munich. I think that lack of experience can still be overcome as long as he can adapt to his new colleagues. But right now I still don't see Watkins' belief in anchoring to Bayern Munich because he is an important player for Aston Villa and it seems Aston Villa will not let him go so easily.
