Ha, sorry, I wasn't expecting to set off such a flurry of activity. I see what you mean about rotating vs. trimming. Honestly, the comment was more just about getting the logo to look more balanced, and there are probably several ways one could go about doing so. The tweaked version does look more "stable"--thanks for humouring me 
The fix is having a different font, trimming was just clipping the ends off at the diagonal, since I wanted to see if leaving it as-is may have looked better. But yeah, sure, no prob.
