And this tournament was perceived much worse than the traditional ones because of the League of Nations. Most of the top teams played like shit in the Nations League because this tournament is, in fact, not interesting for anyone. And after we see when the top teams play like shit, it seems that the football of the national teams is a miserable sight and this feeling is carried over to the next tournament, which was the World Cup.

I agree. The 2022–23 UEFA Nations League was a disaster. None of the major teams took it seriously. France finished third in their group, with just 5 points. Out of the total of 6 matches, they could only win one. England finished at the last place in Group A3, and were relegated to UEFA Nations League B. The same can be said about the performances of Germany and Belgium. The international calendar is looking very crowded nowadays. The players are in a bit of confusion, to whether to give priority to the club side, or towards the national team.

In fact, France was just a step away from repeating the path of England - only a point separated them from the Austrian team. At the same time, after a short period of time, these same teams performed perfectly at the World Cup. It is obvious that no one cares about this tournament and the spectators too (by the way, this is also because of the format - no one is ready to wait a year between the group stage and the playoffs). But these are official games and gradually disregard for such games will be transferred to all tournaments.
