domestic league wins count for nothing in the champions league, as the tournaments history has shown us that team’s that are underperforming in their local league’s can stun their opponent in the champions league. Also I believe that it’ll be an very emotional match between these two Milan clubs, and it’ll be really amazing if one of them can win the cup because they won’t be fancied to win it against the winner of City vs Madrid.
I think there is a correlation a bit, I mean I get that it is not going to look like they are going to win just because they won in the league, but if they look like they are losing and playing badly then it may look like they could lose in the UCL as well, so that's not going to be a good thing. Obviously both teams are doing alright now, so both Milan or Inter could win and that could change the situation a lot. I know that we are going to see two series that will be very fun to watch.

Real is not doing great at league as well, but they are Real Madrid and they are THE champions league team, so them not doing good in the league may not actually end up meaning something I agree with that, but that is a special case for Real Madrid, not every team is like that.
