Leverkusen have been on an insane run recently. They didn't get a loss in their last 14 official matches I mean. This is a really impressive performance from them considering how they started to this season actually. There is an incredible level of improvement thanks to Xabi Alonso's management. I think many people were doubtful about his first manager experience but he is doing a pretty good job at Leverkusen.
He saved Leverkusen from being under the danger of even relegating from the Bundesliga. They have put in a great effort into their Europa League matches so far as well. They have climbed to the 6th place in the Bundesliga maybe but it is too difficult for them to reach top 4 at the moment. Therefore Xabi Alonso wants this title here.
This is why I think Roma will need to be extra careful this time. Because Leverkusen are a candidate to be a bigger challenge for them.
