Lets see the remaining matches for both teams:

United: Wolves, Bournemouth (A), Chelsea, Fulham. Total 12 possible points to earn, or 75 maximum points at the end of the season.
Liverpool: Leicester (A), Aston Villa, Southampton (A). 9 possible points to earn, 71 maximum points.

Looking at the above fixtures, normally United will have no significant problem to win at least 3 matches unless they play under their best form like what they did in the last 2 matches. The possible way for Liverpool to take one of the CL spots is by winning all the remaining matches while hoping United lose at least 4 points. There is also other scenario in case United can win at least 3 matches, it is related to Newcastle but I think Newcastle will get not problem to win all the remaining matches.
Man United doesn't seem to make a mistake in the next 4 matches. The opponent can still be overcome enough by them, it's just that to maintain the best performance with that previous defeat, don't repeat the same thing, then it will make a place for Liverpool, which is getting closer, I believe that Erik Ten Hag and his squad are trying not to make the same mistakes in the upcoming matches.

Assuming that Man United will still finish as fourth and Liverpool in this position but we don't know what the next scenario is just from the side I think I'm just saying something like this.
Newcastle probably won't make the same mistake, I think it will be the same with Man United they will definitely keep him.
You guys are forgetting about Newcastle, they may look ahead but the reality is that Newcastle is very close as well, which means that Liverpool and United both could be in the top four while Newcastle be at the fifth position. I am not sure if I would want that or not, but I think that would be a lot better for humanity overall when you consider who owns Newcastle as well. In the end we are going to see three teams fight for the last 2 spots without a doubt.

The fact that Liverpool had such a terrible season and still managed to get back this high above so many teams is beyond bonkers. They were 10th or something just a few months ago, and they managed to bring the ship around and they are doing amazing, which should be the case here and should not be considered a bad thing.
