These countries are known for high crime rate, but the event was staged without any major issues. Now I am not sure whether that will be the case with the 2026 edition. There are far more number of matches (104 in total), and this time the event is spread across 3 countries. And gang-related violence is once again making news in Mexico. Even in the United States, there were recent incidents of mass shootings and other gun related violence.
