OK guys.. now it is official. Confirmation from ESPN:
https://www.espn.in/football/blog-transfer-talk/story/4943303/transfer-talk-psg-hatch-plan-to-reunite-silva-and-mbappeMessi will move to Al Hilal, which currently participates in the Saudi Professional League once his deal with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of this season. This was a very sensible move from Messi. PSG was treating him without any respect and there is no point in staying somewhere by compromising on self-respect. And there is more. Rumors are that Sergio Busquets may also join Al Hilal. Jordi Alba is yet another player who is rumored to be in talks with Al Hilal at this point. Anyway, next season of the Saudi Professional League is going to be super exciting.
@Sithara007 it’s not an
official announcement because Messi's team has said that this news is not true and any decision will be taken at the end of the season. Also PSG never disrespected him and if you’re talking about that current suspension then its a right call because in the future any player would go on a leave without permission and cite Messi’s case hence it’s an right call by them to suspend Messi for breaking the club rule.
But for me Messi being suspended for 2 games is not a very wise decision. Because after all, Messi's contract with PSG is almost up, just waiting for this season to end. So there should have been a little leeway in the rules for Messi. And even Messi has actually wanted to visit Arabia for a long time but always failed due to schedule clashes or something like that. and Messi went to Arab yesterday because as a tourism ambassador he has an obligation to be there. PSG may indeed respect Messi. but I don't really like people who even violate Messi's privacy rights like visiting Messi's house. I read a lot about this but I also don't know if the news is just an exaggeration or not. but things like that should make Messi uncomfortable there a lot longer.
And about Messi going to Al-hillal with a big contract offer, I think nothing has been decided yet. Well, it looks like a decision will be given when the season ends. I prefer Messi to be at Barcelona. but if Messi chooses to go to the Arab League then it doesn't matter because that is his career. and I still like his style of play wherever he plays.
