I am a newbie and would like to invest $1000 to start. I have read that I should put 40 percent into bitcoin and diversify the other 60 percent. I need opinions, advice, and anything from those with experience of positive value. 
Diversifying wont lessen the risk you can have in investing in cryptocurrency but then that is a good way of handling your money, we should not take all our money in crypto 40-60 is already a great percentage to invest in crypto. Always be careful that investing in altcoin makes it riskier so be mindful about it, and before you invest you should consider researching so you can expect the possible things that might happen once you invest in crypto.
I suggest you need to learn first about cryptocurrency, our suggestions or the comments here are not enough, try to explore more and know some advantages and disadvantage of investing in crypto.
