Ac Milan made a mistake by allowing themselves to be defeated by a team that they will defeat without exerting themselves. I don't believe Ac Milan will be able to qualify for the Champions League the following season because it will be very difficult for them to meet up when the league is about to end. On the other hand, Inter Milan made more of an effort to ensure that even if they didn't win the league title, they should still be able to qualify.
Lazio is four points ahead of Ac Milan, thus even if they did earn a point, Lazio would still aim to win the remaining games to qualify for the champion league as well. This means that Ac Milan can not reach the necessary number of points to qualify for the champion league the next season.
I think we can safely say that AC Milan is not going to finish this season in the top 4. I don't believe they deserved to finish in the top 4 anyway. But there is still a chance for them to finish in the 6th position if they do not win the remaining matches. There is a huge chance for AC Milan to drop down to the 6th. They actually have a chance to finish in the 7th position, to be honest. And with the performance that AC Milan has shown this season, I am not sure if I can count on them to actually finish in the top 6.
Roma lost two points maybe but their chances are still alive for top four now. Because Milan's losing to Spezia made Roma even close the gap with them by one point. There are three weeks left and the gap is only two points. Nothing is impossible at this moment. Roma and Milan both are competing in European cups now as well and we can see them like they are fighting under the same conditions now.
Milan are in the Champions League which is the most prestigious tournament of course. But both of them care about these tournaments right now. If Juventus don't get a punishment again then Roma will have no choice other than winning the Europa League title as well in case of not finishing in top four.
Hence the final weeks in the Serie A can be quite interesting between Milan and Roma.
Yeah, I agree because on papers AS Roma is still alive for the top four but in realistic world they already lost their chances after having last worst five weeks with no win and just 3 points which mean things are going no good for the Mourinho and his boys hopefully they will give their best against Bayer Leverkusen and try to win Europa Cup if they want to go into Champions League for the next season otherwise they have to live without UEFA in next season.
Round 36 matches are looking easy for the top teams which mean they can stay at their current spots and then fight will be on in last two rounds which will create good entertainment for the fans in Italian fan we have good interesting matches in coming days.
I understand that realistically it doesn't seem like Roma has any chance. But I will say that Roma still has a chance to finish in the top four.
Roma will have to pray that AC Milan performs inconsistently as they are doing and Roma will also have to make sure that they also win the remaining matches as well. Is that realistic to think about? Probably not. But there is a chance. And with AC Milan, I don't think I can trust them with anything, to be honest.
