We've been hearing stories of how people slipped and fell in their bathrooms, some died and some were paralyzed. This a very traumatizing situation.
Preventing accidents in the bathroom is important for maintaining safety and avoiding injuries. I have made some tips to help you prevent accidents in the bathroom:
1: Keep the floor dry: Wipe up any water spills or splashes immediately to prevent slippery surfaces. Place a rug near the shower or bathtub to provide additional traction.
2: Put grab rails: putting sturdy grab rails in the shower, near the bathtub, and next to the toilet will provide support and stability, especially for individuals with movement issues or balance problems.
3: Maintain proper lighting: Ensure the bathroom is well-lit, especially in areas like the shower and near the toilet. Use bright, light bulbs and consider adding a night light to assist with visibility during nighttime bathroom visits.
4: Store items safely: Keep bathroom needs, such as toiletries, and cleaning products properly. Make sure there is no soap on the floors, as it can increase the risk of tripping and falling.
5: Don't ever leave kids below 8 years in the bathroom unattended.
6: Be cautious when getting in and out of the bathtub: Use extra care when stepping in and out of the bathtub.
7: Put a bathroom emergency alarm: an emergency alarm or call button in the bathroom that can be easily accessed in case of a fall or other emergencies will help to get quick assistance.
Hope this helps. If you have other tips please add in the comment session. Please be safe.
