Is my privacy truly safeguarded?
Yes, but depending on how you buy or purchase your Bitcoin.

The information collected during registration, known as Know Your Customer (KYC), enables the tracking of a user's real-world identity. These data can be connected thanks to the use of blockchain technology. Additionally, you can trace your Bitcoin transactions using tools such as Bitcoin Explorers and other similar resources.  I will be glad to get more contributions on how I can maintain more privacy.
This act of performing KYC before accessing a crypto exchange is performed by centralized exchanges, which is extremely unsafe because you are surrendering your privacy to them, which they may then use against you. The government can also obtain information from them when necessary, which violates the Bitcoin rule of anonymity.

You can buy bitcoins using a peer-to-peer transaction and send them to a non-custodial wallet, where you will keep your private key. You can also use mixers to bridge your transaction record in order to attain complete anonymity.
