Well, for your information, stake is not the only casino that does not necessarily ask users for kyc verification before the user is allowed to deposit and play, majorly every online casino on this forum only ask kyc from user when the user is withdrawing an amount of money that is over the limit to an amount they accept for non kyced users.

I think you have not heard the update, afaik KYC is now mandatory for new accounts. They started to implement it since last year if I remember it correctly. I've heard this information from new players especially new players who are from the same country as me. For old users, it is still not mandatory as old users are  offered to do KYC for extra bonuses. For now, whenever there is a question related to KYC then we have 2 different answers. 1st is that it is not mandatory for old players and 2nd is that it is mandatory for new players. However, it is correct that casino reserve the right to ask KYC especially if it is clearly mentioned in their ToS.
Even for the old players the terms and conditions were updated. In that it is clearly mentioned Stake have got all rights to request KYC when required. So, even for the old players there'll be KYC check when something found wrong with their activities. While getting into Stake, even the old players get to see the terms and conditions which needs to be agreed to enter the platform.

This is commonly happen on any casino so players should expect that this request might came to them since this one is really needed especially if they won a huge amount of money or even trying to withdraw some funds on suspicious manner. Instead thinking about negative on KYC asked maybe its better to take it as positive side since it means that no one can withdraw our funds especially a huge amount if there's no KYC provided. Also sometimes that's why its important to read the TOS especially when you are not reading it for long time so that we will get updated to lates rules added.
Well, you are right, aside for the fact that some scam casinos end up selling those identification documents to fellow scammers and hackers on dark web, I personally have never objected the demand for kyc verification from businesses, I do not see any negative side to it as long as the platform we are submitting the document to is one that can be trusted to never use the documents for other illegal or selfish purposes for their personal profit, I have passed kyc verification right from when I signed up on stake, I verified my account even before I deposited and wagered my first dollar, so I have no fear for the future, whether they demand kyc from old users, I sure know they later wil.
