I have known Bitcoin for over five years. but I never bothered to hold Bitcoin. I never understood how it works. I only used Bitcoin for my purposes, like subscribing to some services and paying for some goods. I guess I heard about Bitcoin when it pumped a lot, and my friends were talking about it. I liked the idea of its anonymity. I was using Payeer or Perfect money to buy goods and pay for some service subscriptions. Usually, they charged transaction fees, and then I heard of Bitcoin and Coinbase payment systems.

Coinbase users were able to send Bitcoin to their friends and there were no fees. I liked that idea back then regardless knowing how centralized exchanges destroyed the main concept of Bitcoin. I don't know how it works now. I don't use Coinbase anymore since I started learning more about centralized exchanges. I still use other centralized exchanges but did not login to coinbase for a while now.
