But with the evidence that they didn't change the scheme from start to finish in the first leg it shows that indeed Manchester City had already made a decision with a draw there because if they all out I think Pep already knows some of the schemes he will do and it's proven for the second leg them because if we look at the schemes that Manchester City did, it was quite diverse in this match, especially when they had secured the match with 3 goals in the second leg.
You meant 4 goals for Manchester City, didn't you? But anyway, when Pep Guardiola saw how successfully Real Madrid took out Haaland in the first leg, I am sure that he thought about all the little details he could change in order to pose a threat for Real Madrid even when they take Haaland out again. They have done a great job against Haaland as it is well known how difficult it is against him.
But I think that this is the major strength of Manchester City right now. Even if you eliminate Haaland for a game or two, you are still far away from winning the game. De Bruyne is willing to take responsibility, but also several other players are able to score at any time during the game.
It is hard to say whether the goal in the first leg by De Bruyne changed a lot or whether Manchester City would have advanced to the final even if they had been down 0-1. I believe that it was about time for Real Madrid to go home even if they had won the first leg by just one goal.
One thing I like a lot about the Manchester City team is that they have great characters. De Bruyne, Gündogan, Haaland, they are all hard working soccer players and no idiots in their normal lives. Good to see that they are going their way now and hopefully win the title. De Bruyne has never won the Champions League and he deserves it so much. He is one of the best players ever in my opinion.
