This season, they have indeed made changes on the front lines by joining Haaland to the squad. The previous season they usually played with a false nine strategy, but this season they played with a pure striker. Of course it has to rack Pep Gurdiola's brain, because he needs to make changes along with the changes in the strategy he applies. But it went smoothly, indeed at the beginning they struggled a little, but when they really adapted well they immediately stepped on the gas with the extraordinary goals that Erling Haaland created.

Correct and if you remember when Guardiola was in Barcelona, he didn't need a pure striker because everyone was dangerous for the opponent and he had Messi who sometimes covered 60 or 70 yards on the pitch just on his own. Haaland can do that and he has amazing speed, but he is not typically known for high speed counter attacks and dribblings. He is still a weapon and probably the best in the world next to Mbappe, but there is a difference between the two. Mbappe is more the Messi guy, taking the ball and accelerating and running across the entire pitch. Haaland is a player who is the best in short sprints finding the gap. Usually someone like Mbappe fits better into a squad like Manchester City at first glance, but as long as they find a way to perfectly integrate Haaland into their style, it is still an impressive combination. Haaland doesn't like that ultra high possession soccer style as much.
