Chelsea is a rather young team in the Premier League. The average age of their team is ranked 6th in the league with Arsenal being first (24.6 years) and Fulham being the last (27.9 years). Rejuvenation isn't the problem. They finally need a coach and players who are absolutely willing to put in the effort to be successful. It was never seen in soccer that a club spent so much money on transfers and couldn't even qualify for the European tournaments, not even the Conference League. Those sunk costs are higher than everything else we have ever seen.
Chelsea started poorly this season and ended the season the season in a worst form. I don't know if it was the change of ownership that affected the club,because it was Abrahamovich that brought Chelsea into the light when he bought Chelsea in 2003. Maybe there are what he does to motivate his club players that Todd lacks.
The club has good players but they are finding it very difficult to win matches,which is a big problem to Chelsea. I hope that next season will be a better season for them as they need to get a better coach to do the job and let Lampard go to hell. Todd lacks the knowledge on football club as a business and this is affecting Chelsea badly. Or do I say that as Abrahamovich sold off Chelsea,they have gone back to their worst form before he bought them.

It is a bit weird because nobody would think that Abramowitch is the soccer guru who knows what to do, which players to buy etc. This doesn't mean that he has no idea about soccer, but it is possible that he delegated the most important decisions to people who have been in the soccer business for a very long time instead of relying on his own opinion only. I don't know how Todd Boehly works and whether he thinks he knows everything better than anyone else. But when you check the squad it is actually not a bad squad. It just doesn't work for some reason. He went for long-term contracts which give the players a lot of freedom because once they signed a five year or six year contract, they are financially fine forever. That could be a reason that they are not willing to show their best all the time.
