They tried hardly to be a new 9gag and ignored the fact that most people were just using their service as image hosting only.

I knew them through this forumAs far as I know, Imgur still primarily focuses on image hosting, and it remains one of the most popular image hosting sites on the internet. But in recent years, they also include video hosting, community features such as commenting and upvoting, and the ability to create memes using their built-in meme generator tool. Imgur also has a messaging feature that allows users to share images and videos privately with others.

Oops! That's a harsh decision on them from theymos, but I have nothing to say than they deserve it.Yeah. They were the standard for a long time, and I used them frequently on this site. But considering the recent problems, I support this decision.
