Everything is clear about the teams joining the Champions League and Europa League before the final week of the season. There is still unresolved business in the standings on one hand though. There are still three teams fighting over the spot for the Europa Conference League which are Aston Villa, Tottenham and Brentford. And it is so sad to see Tottenham here honestly.
But with what Tottenham have shown in recent seasons, especially this season, is it something bad if they only play in the conference league? Maybe many think that if Tottenham play in a European competition that is less competitive, Tottenham will be able to do more, but I see it will be the same. Tottenham will still only be an average team without impressive achievements, and its best achievement is the Champions League when it was beaten by Liverpool in the final.
In the conference league if Tottenham manages to qualify there, they will only meet with teams looking weaker, but they might have better motivation in the tournament unlike Tottenham who even when playing in the league always displays inconsistency and any team always has a chance to beat them, maybe if Tottenham had a more experienced coach who has the ability to turn this club into a more competitive next season then the conference league would be a title for them even though it's not as prestigious as the european league or champions league but getting the title would certainly be more good isn't it?
Tottenham have had a terrible season so far which is a fact. Conte started the season well first but their form started to drop down very much after a point. And after his leaving the team they got even worse. Only joining the Europa Conference League won't be a good achievement for them of course. This team have a bigger potential normally considering the general quality of their players.
The thing they need is to find the right manager for themselves. Nagelsmann is the biggest candidate according to latest news but we will wait and see after the end of the season.
