Not that strange because there some other casinos with similar procedure where users are not able to contact support without an account. Obviously having live support and public support email are better because it makes players easier to contact support. Related to Lightlord's inactivity in this forum, it does mean that he also inactive in the casino. For bitcointalk members only who have never played/tried Bitvest, yes it will be hard to trust them but in fact there are still good number of active players in the site which means that there are still some players who trust Bitvest.
