Actually Sampdoria is a pretty good team for many seasons in Serie A and I really hope that this season they will finish mid-table. We know that in several seasons Sampdoria only depended on luck, so they were only able to finish above the relegation safe zone. But that will not be able to make a team expect the same results every season. I think Sampdoria's relegation can be a very valuable lesson, at least they can improve their performance in Serie B, before being promoted to Serie A again.
The teams are good but the prospect of going to the Lady was very tempting after Sampdoria was stripped of a point, interrupting a run of sustained success from an unblemished record for Italian football.
