I agree with you. If a group gradually becomes stronger. Then it has a long shelf life. The way the Roma team has performed in the last two seasons is absolutely commendable. Their squad was not very strong. Still, they managed to perform quite well
Roma did not spend enough money to build up their squad and with this, having 2 final matches in Europe just within 2 seasons is impressive. They even could win the Europa League final if luckiness and referee stand with them.
Now if Roma management prepares a decent fund to bring in new players and strengthen the team. Then maybe next season Roma team will aim to win the title. But the problem is that Roma management is not interested in building the team by spending a lot of money.
Anyway the final match already ended and they lost, so they have to move on with a new season. That will begin with this summer transfer and with a first big brick for their plan, will Jose Mourinho stay with them or leave?
It is clearly that Jose is very important for their success in last two seasons and he has one more year in the current contract but he told publicly that he needs more money to buy more players. The current squad is not strong enough and more important, lack of deepth. Injuries can destroy Roma competitiveness and impact their standing in Serie A as well as their plans for Europa League next season.
