It is clear that the club and Xavi did everything possible to make Messi's return to Barça a reality, but the situations on both sides have made it impossible for this to happen. Also looking at it closely, Messi know what's best for Barcelona. Barcelona are in a rebuilding process so it's understandably he wants each and every players to be part of it, very unselfish part from him.
