They should change that mindset and quit right away before they lose control and end up placing another bet. They can expect to win big but also have to admit that it is not easy to get and they might lose all their money, especially if they intend to recover previous losses where it will be even more difficult. The pattern "high risk, high reward, but we need to be wise before deciding" is something that must be owned so that we realize that gambling is just entertainment and nothing more. Don't chase something from gambling but let it come alone while you just want to enjoy gambling.
In order to avoid more severe addiction, you really have to change your mindset in a more positive way, acknowledging that gambling is not a place to gain profit except for luck.
from a positive mindset a gambler will definitely gamble casually without any pressure even though losing never has the intention to chase that loss. so gamblers who already have a mindset like that certainly can't become crazy gambling addicts and are usually calmer and usually always get small luck.
i think you cannot change the mind and attitude of people around. Living and dealing with different people is not an easy task and deal with gamblers is not an easy task though.
