Regardless, what I think is that the government shouldn't shove it down the throat of people. Workers who are approaching retirement age should be given a choice after appraisal to keep working or retire.

What is the reason for this governement retirement pool? Basically it is creating mismanagement of funds and bureaucacy. Basically you can give the money in the hand of the worker and can let him organize his own retirement plan.
I think the reason for the governement controled retirement pool was to protect financial unedicated workers from losing their retirement investment. So maybe the centralization is the better of two evils. And if you have f.E. the centralized mismanagement and the bureaucracy, than it is okay to raise the retirement age. Basically you can retire with 40 in France. But you will not live good with this small social benefits and the retirement money then with 67.
