I think, as long as Xavi is still the coach of Barcelona, then it looks like Barcelona doesn't have a big chance to win the Champions League trophy. After all, in the last two seasons, in the end, Barcelona could not qualify for the last 16 in the Champions League, and Barcelona then only played in the Europa League, but Barcelona still failed. So yes, I personally feel that Xavi cannot make better developments, but if only to dominate La Liga, then Xavi still has good ability to keep Barcelona good only in La Liga.
Barcelona's success in winning the La Liga title this season has made Xavi Hernandez's position still safe as a coach, after Barcelona failed in the Champions League group stage and were eliminated in the Europa League playoffs. No doubt with Barcelona has very poor performance in Champion League last two season, not qualify in group stage after difficult winning against Inter and Bayern made Barcelona failed to 16th round and bad achievement for the first participants have failed with group stage.
Next season I don't sure with Barcelona can't compete in Champion League, has good capital as La Liga winner not guarantee Barcelona have chance for qualifying at group stage exactly when drawing have bigger teams face.
Xavi had to go through process after process in his success in presenting two titles for Barcelona. He is equipped with a squad that has been in a slump since he first came to Barcelona as a coach. Xavi was slowly able to form the Barcelona squad into a solid team even though the club was having financial difficulties, even though they managed to win La Liga, Barcelona were still unable to compete in the Champions League.
Next season will be a new challenge for Xavi, he will be tested in the Champions League as the most prestigious competition on the European continent. The current squad has been proven capable of giving trophies to Barcelona, but Xavi needs to bring in a few more players so that his team can provide competition in the Champions League.
I have never fully understood the extent to which Barcelona was on the brink of collapse or not. The news have written that tomorrow is literally doomsday for them and then they kept going anyway. I don't know how much Xavi himself even knows or whether he is just told that he can buy this player and can't buy that player. Whether Barcelona is now safe or not, nobody seems to really know.
But it is true that he got on board when the squad was really down and the perspective wasn't great either. He had to go from there and consolidation has been done quite a bit for now. Real Madrid will do a lot to get back to their usual level and then we'll see how the next season goes. It will probably be a tighter race than what we have seen this last season.
