Naby Keita is on his way to Werder Bremen on a free transfer. I'm afraid Keita couldn't show the expected performance for Liverpool most of the time. He has never been a regular in the starting eleven also. I don't remember him playing like in nearly all games in a season. I think this is the right choice for Liverpool and it seems like they are doing some cleaning in the midfield also.
I mean together with Keita there are 3 more midfielders who are about to leave the team this summer. Oxlade and Milner are going to be released and Arthur's loan time is also ending at the end of the month. They are making the moves to strengthen the midfield on one hand. Alexis Mac Allister is joining the team by July 1. This is really important for Liverpool because I think that the midfield has been the weakest point of the lineup so far.
The midfield of Liverpool was a big reason why they did not succeed in the last season. People will say that they did not perform well in the attacking lineup. I agree but the problem is when the supply from midfield is not good enough the attacking players are not going to be able to do well. I believe this is the right decision they are taking and another thing they have to remember is that they will also have to bring in good players once these players leave the team. I hope Liverpool is ready to spend some money because they are going to need it. Without spending a good amount of money they are not going to be able to make the squad stronger.
