It's impossible to generalize, but since most people lose in gambling, same as they do in stock trading, it should be more of a negative experience. That said, gambling makes you feel excited and that's positive. If you're ready to pay for excitement maybe the money isn't really lost?

Dreams and goals are important to have. I hope bitcoin will be worth a million dollars at some point and I'll feel even better than if I won a lottery
For me it hasn't been life changing, because on long run I'm losing more money than winning.
