Ilkay Gundogan had a wonderful season this year. He won the admiration and respect of everyone with his performance. However, Manchester City did not offer a contract that would convince him. I think he will definitely leave the team. However, Bernardo Silva has a contract for 2 more years and is one of the most important players of the team. I don't think there is anything that requires him to leave the team. Manchester City will make a transfer to the midfield instead of Ilkay, but I don't think they will make radical changes in the starting 11. I think it would be a risky choice and Manchester City would not prefer such aggressive changes.

Gundogan has strengthened his position after so many seasons at City. If he stays, it will be a plus for the club, but if he leaves, City will be able to get a suitable replacement, including young talent Tommy Doyle, who we know is currently on loan at Shefield Unitwd.

Gundogan is also a true warrior who is not a crybaby, always fights and goes all out when given the chance to play, doesn't complain much unlike Cancelo who always feels less and less grateful to have been recruited by Pep from Juventus who did not give him a regular place in the starting eleven.
