In this case I would like to use my country as an example in Nigerian the last past four years was a tangle after the government shut down the boarder that duration difficulty was in the country cause the velocity of things was high in price and also there was a lot of economic situation all over the country and also food starvation will shower over the country and if it doesn't have a substantial boosting of local food production I will say that the country will be forced to go into starvation of food and will not be reasonable I think that should be it disadvantages right now
The government's intention for the border closure was good, but they never took the right part. Before a country's government is supposed to close down the border and restrict all foreign goods from entering, they should make sure that a lot of production has already taken place in their locality, and closing down the border will help the people start valuing and making use of their own-made products.
But the reverse was the case for Nigeria; it was all about politics. The government made a move in that hash closure because some groups of producers wanted to benefit the most from it. They stopped things from entering the country and later still took licenses from a few entrepreneurs, giving them to only selected people, who were to benefit the most from the border closure. In such a case, those in charge are now controlling the price of goods, which would have been at the lowest cost as they were home-made and not imported, but it seems like the reverse was the case.
So in the case of Nigeria, the border closure caused more harm to the citizens than the good it was supposed to bring. This is just based on my own observation and how I understood and witnessed the whole situation.
