If you take the time to read my original posts...you will find that I am using also copper (XBox or RAM style) shims...cheap @ Amazon or E-bay...they are filling the gaps ...and thermals too...no Dremel...
Your mileage may vary...Decide for yourself...

absolutely agree! i'll definitely pass here.. when it comes into buying these shims and pastes. cheapo pads, but a little bit thicker will do.. these poor shitcans are not worth such investments anyway. imo.
You are right...but Phobia is cheap...$5.99 for 0.5mm thickness...120mm x 20mm x0.5mm...
If you need thicker...1.5mm is $7.49 ...will cover about 5 Gridseeds ... 5 chips each ...TOP ONLY ...bottom is flat enough IMHO ...Th. Paste will do...
Copper shims are useful for really BAD GAPS...like 1 in 10 miners ...$0.15 a piece...
