The reason why gambling addiction gets no attention is that no one considers it as an addiction. The gamblers think that they are playing gamble and it's normal and the same for the gambler's family who never knows if there is anything like excessive gambling or gambling addiction.
Also, we see sometimes ads on social media from different doctors telling about their services for the cure of alcohol or tobacco addiction, but no one says a word about gambling addiction. It seems that the whole of society is silent when it comes to gambling addiction.
What happens is that gambling addiction is in a way invisible, if someone is addicted to alcohol then you can see, hear and even smell that the person always reeks of alcohol at all times every single time you meet them, so after a few times in which this happens you can tell there is a problem, however gambling addiction is not as simple to detect, as the only way for you to know this it would be for you to live with that person and notice they are always gambling and take a look at their bank statement and see they are losing their money at an alarming speed.
