I really don't get Jokic, feels like something is off with him. He is arguably at top 20 by this point, but even if not he is %100 guaranteed to be in top 30 at this point, he has 2 mvps and 1 fmvp, limiting down how many people have that already shows you how rare that is, not many people won it like that. In the end he should have been like going crazy, some people celebrate for weeks, and he was literally unemotional by the end of the game, like he didn't care at all. For him it was "job is done, back to home to relax" and by home its not denver, he wants to go back to his nation and be happy there. He even said "who likes their job", stating basically that he doesn't even like his job, by the way his job is multi million dollar earning NBA MVP, and he dislikes that?
I get that some people may defend him and say it could happen and that's normal and all that, but I do not feel like that's normal, I do not see him being 35+ and still playing, something may happen with him, dude may just retire at 30, its very possible, or he may just start being terrible because he doesn't want to work on himself and he will get worse and worse, I do not really know whats going to happen, but this mindset is unique and I have never heard of it before.
Couldn’t it be like he was just trolling? And I actually agree with him that no one actually likes his job. Nobody wants to do the same thing day after day, year after year. No one likes to do his job, people are just consistent and disciplined. Most of the people in the world right now are working 9 to 5 jobs. Of course, they do not like their job. They do what they are doing just because they are disciplined. I think he said it because of frustration. People do get tired of doing the same thing, the same training every day.
So yes, in this situation, I am going to defend him, but I will defend him as long as he stays consistent and disciplined to do the same thing again, which will bring him success.
I don't think that he is trolling though, perhaps that how his personality is, maybe we just don't know, when there are no camera's behind, then we will see him celebrate it in private with just his families and close friends around.
Winning is winning though, that is the ultimate goal for any athlete, be the best and then win some championships along the way and he is still in his prime so I doubt that he is done with that winning mentality. Remember that part of his winning strategy is to lose weight, so that alone shows how his mind is, prepared to do everything for the sake of winning.
