Well, it's official.
Ja Morant has be suspended for 25 games:
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/37863825/sources-grizzlies-ja-morant-suspended-25-games-nbaIn my opinion, he got lucky. Many outlets spoke of a much higher punishment, even up to 1 season. The number which circulated the most was 30 games. So now it's "just" 25 games, seems like a good deal for him.
If he will learn something from the whole situation is a different story, der Grizzlies can only hope he does.
This will definitely harm Memphis to play without him in the first 30% of the season, at least they don't have to pay him for that time I guess.
I think he got the right punishment. If he had been suspended for 1 season, it could have been a little heavy, but it wouldn't have been right if he had been punished less. The NBA needs to be serious about this, be very sensitive about violence and other things. Things like guns, knives, fights cause people to set a bad example.
I think this kind of thing should have no place in sports

25 games without pay, right? I think that's a lot of money for him, so he deserves that kind of punishment. But this is his second offense. I would have said that he deserves a second chance, but this is his third chance. So, I hope he won't make a mistake after this.
What he showed was promoting violence, and that's not what sports promote.
Sports are about pure entertainment and brotherhood among players with the right cause.
He'll be alright because he chose that road and I know that he knows fully what he is doing. I always believe that the first one might be a mistake, but the 2nd time is not.
Ja Morant will now have to pay for what he has done and he should be more careful about his actions because he is now an icon in the NBA with a bright future. He should think about his daughter more rather than doing some lame things that will ruin his career.
I think 25-game suspension is just a start though.
