I mean sure you technically can, but it's ok to leave your house and get sunlight. I am the most paranoid person on the planet but i swear you guys are just nerds. There's other things you can do in person that you can't do online like exchange physical things in person and vet someones character. Some of the p2p trading partners I've had a hundred trades with I can just send them $1000 by mistake and they would send it right back.
It's not like what you think, he doesn't mean he always live in his home and never going outside, but he just don't want anyone know if he's a Bitcoin holder. Any person will going outside due to many factors e.g. working, meet up, buy something, gym, medical check up etc. Some people feel not safe when they introduced how much they earn per month, how much they investment, how many assets they have etc because crime always related with financial.
Good if your trading partners want to send back your $1,000, but don't expect everyone will do it.
