Priorities matters in all of this. La Liga is important to win just like the champions league. At least if he can’t win both, he shouldn’t lose both of them. I respect Xavi’s coaching style and I’m sure he’s going to do better by next season. The team is currently facing financial challenges, but I hope they’re able to find a way out to be able to sign new players to fill the void against next season, most especially the champions league competition.
The Laliga championship is the one Barcelona shouldn't lose, at the very least. The champions league, however, is not one of them. Barcelona is still in the process of developing, so they can't aim to win the UEFA Champions League by next year. The Barcelona players, as much as the fans, are aware that they haven't developed to that point yet. Building Barcelona back up to the powerful team it was during the period of Messi, Xavi, and Iniesta is going to take a lot of time.
I'm interested to see how Xavi plans to add new players to the Barcelona squad despite the club's ongoing financial difficulties.
I perceive that Barcelona's journey to restore its past glory, especially reminiscing about the Messi, Xavi, and Iniesta period, is a long-term project. While the club holds the reigning Laliga championship title, which they are undoubtedly keen to defend, their immediate future does not seem to feature a UEFA Champions League trophy. As a neutral fan, I feel that Barcelona, under the leadership of Xavi Hernandez, is still in the developmental phase and lacks the wherewithal to become a major European contender by next year.
