Many people like that Mourinho lost the final. But it is more than that, because AS Roma is now missing out on the CL. And that Sevilla has won the tournament for the umpteenth time, says something. I can't yet think of an explanation for the disappointing results in the league. Would the level difference in the EL compared to the Spanish league be so huge due to the difference in this performance curve? Next year we will have a number of strong teams in the EL again. It is impossible to designate a top favorite in advance.
Mourinho defeat in the championship game may have pleased some but the effects extend beyond that one game. It is without a doubt disappointing for AS Roma and its followers that the team did not advance to the champions league. However sevilla continued dominance in the tournament speaks volumes about their prowess in European competition. However it is challenging to identify a single reason that accounts for the unsatisfactory league performance. The performance gap between the Europa League and the spanish league may be a factor but there are probably many more intricate factors at work. It will be increasingly harder to pick a clear favourite when numerous quality teams compete in the Europa league the following year. The unpredictable nature of football is what makes it so beautiful and as fans this quality keeps us captivated.

It was also the only way for Sevilla to have another good season. Even if they lost in the final to the EL, Sevilla would have had a bad team, because they were unable to qualify for the EL through the regular season. Maybe it's time to take the broom through the selection, you ask yourself, but on the other hand you win the EL. A title that Barcelona would like to have for years due to the disappointing results in the CL. It is remarkable that big clubs such as Barcelona and Juventus are unable to win this title and are clearly better than Sevilla and Frankfurt last year.
