Sure he did quite well at Espanyol the season before but it's not a reference for a real Benzema replacement and they have to try to get better than Joselu.
I also think the same. Joselu is 33 years old now and he isn't even close to Benzema's quality. He must have just been signed to increase the alternatives in the offense area. I was also impressed with the work he has done with Espanyol - 16 goals in 34 La Liga matches. Because of that he might be useful in the times he is needed. But this just can't be a signing to fill Benzema's place. If we don't see any other much better striker signing then I won't have much hope about Real Madrid's next season.
Especially to become champion in the Champions League they need a qualified striker transfer. If Mbappe doesn't come now then they can just look for sensible moves. Maybe Juventus might be willing to let Vlahovic go for example.
He did that at Madrid a few years ago but he was really out of competition and now it won't change anything so in this case it will obviously be very difficult for Madrid to only make moves as substitutes for Benzema, Hazard and Mariano with only Diaz and Joselu.
16 goals in 34 matches is actually quite good but it should be realized that the conditions of Espanyol and Madrid are clearly different, especially in terms of player competition.
Signing Dusan Vlahovic is actually quite good in my opinion but coming back in this case they have to compete and of course have to prepare an obviously big price because if I'm not mistaken seeing the current rumors Bayern also want this player.
