I would say Chelsea was quite unlucky throughout last season.  Of course, we all know that every club would experience the same at least once in a decade. So for now it will make no sense if we keep pressing on the "WHY" of Chelsea's condition.
Many keep talking about Potter and Todd Boehly as the sole cause of the club's predicament while few speak about the way forward. I'm more worried about how the new chelsea would be in the next season, seeing that the club is already showing signs of a bad start by planning on selling Covasic and Kante.
Every team that is in a slump will find it very difficult to get up, especially in the Premier League where the competition is very competitive, in Chelsea's management there are many new people after changing ownership of this London club and in the first year there was an immediate decline in team performance and Chelsea's management can be blamed a little for what happened, and they made a madness in one season by changing coaches.

I am a little pessimistic that the Chelsea team can get up next season, maybe it will take a long time for this team to return to the fierce competition at the top to fight for the Premier League trophy again like before.
