AC Milan is like many Italian clubs in the last few years. They don't have too much money like clubs from Premier League or La Liga. They have to look at free players to convince those players participate in their clubs. Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma, Juventus focus on this approach and they got some success. They aim at young players, not old players if they have to spend money for transfers. Because they want to build a squad that can play in a next 5 years or longer with those players.

In addition, they don't want to increase their salary ceilings too much because they are aware that it will be harmful for for their club finance after a few seasons. If results in leagues, competitions won't maintain at good levels, a higher salary ceiling will cause a financial crisis for their clubs.
Napoli are by far the best-financed team in Serie A with a total club market value of €640.50m. Napoli is in first place with the highest total value, followed by Inter, Milan, Juventus, Analanta and Roma.

So far Milan is in 3rd place in the list of clubs with the highest total market value, but Milan is also in third place as a team that has an average age of 27.1 years from 30 players. Milan has a lot of young players, and Milan also has some expensive players like Rafael Leão, Theo Hernández and Sandro Tonali who all have a market value of over €50 million. Currently only Mirante remains as the oldest player in Milan who is 39 years old since Zlatan Ibrahimovic was without a club.
