Oh I just noticed a tweet from Fabrizio Romano that at last Ilkay Gundogan has been confirmed to sign a 2 season contract with Barcelona. This is great news for all the fans because Barcelona really need an experienced midfielder since Busquets left, so Ilkay Gundogan looks like he's worth it. So, welcome to Ilkay Gundogan.

Gündogan has agreed a two year deal valid until June 2025 with option for further year.
Xavi worked quite efficiently and quickly because the certainty of Busquets leaving was final for his decision and of course with Gundogan in their squad it was clear this would have a positive impact.
Gundogan's leadership spirit and calmness need not be questioned even though it is impossible for him to immediately become captain but still with him and the experience he has it is clear that this is very good for Barcelona.
Now for this maybe I will still continue to wait for Alba's condition, which incidentally after Busquets left he was the only player left for Barcelona's golden era. He is still expecting to stay even willing to drop his wages but it looks like Barcelona are still looking to seek regeneration in this regard.
